Below is the topic I am researching on. Which is suicide. I need help figuring out how to? create and post a frequency table of your variables. Complete the following steps: below

The topic I would like to research and focus on is suicide. Suicide is an ever-growing problem globally. Suicide can best be classified as one way to get out of a situation that really has no answer. Suicide is never okay, and no one should feel that is the last resort. This problem has become a massive problem when certain individuals suffer from an illness that they may feel has no hope for a cure. These people may find it difficult to look on the bright side, and feel that living with such a disease is no way to leave. A person will often face emotions of fear, shame, guilt, anger, and depression. A large body of evidence suggests high levels of distress and psychiatric symptoms among patients who receive a diagnosis of cancer. Patients with cancer have been shown to be at an increased risk for suicide and cardiovascular events. However, most results have been interpreted to be consequences of treatment or the burden of living with a progressing cancer (Fang et al., 2012). Most people just feel hopeless when facing a disease of this severity. There are many diseases to choose from; therefore, this will be refined as we go throughout the course.

A possible variable to use is suicide1. The survey question would be, do you think a person has a right to end his or her life if this person has an incurable disease? Another variable to use is suicide2. The survey question for this variable is, do you think a person has a right to end his or her life if the person is tired of living?

There are some possible variables with questions to pose. The answers to the survey questions would be laid out in the form of yes, no, undecided, no answer, and not applicable.

I realize that suicide is a very broad topic, and there are many variables to consider when it comes to suicide. This topic could be directed at age, sex, and the basis of the disease that they have (whether it is life threatening or chronic). I have heard about and seen many cases come into the Emergency Room that I work at where patients have tried to commit suicide due to a life-threatening or chronic disease that they are tired of living with. The topic of suicide rates in correlation with the disease can go over the entire map. I would like to zero in on why certain diseases cause people to consider suicide.

Directions

This week's main Forum requires you to answer the question completely and correctly to receive full credit.

Now that you have uploaded the GSS dataset into your SPSS and have taken a look at the Codebook, you are going to create and post a frequency table of your variables. Complete the following steps:

Give your forum title a unique label specific to your study/variables. Post a brief explanation of your topic which includes a bit of information about your variables (label them clearly). Include frequency tables and histograms for each of your variables. Explain this data in no more than 5 sentences (each variable).

To create a frequency table in SPSS

1. Open SPSS and open your GSS data file

2. Click Analyze

3. Click Descriptive Statistics

4. Click Frequencies

5. click open Statistics

6. make sure that mean, median, mode, standards deviation, and variance are chosen and click Continue

7. Choose the variable that you want to make a frequency table of and click the arrow (this will move it into the right 'Variable' box)

8. Click OK

Presenting your data in graphic form is also important when conducting quantitative research. Based on what you have learned from the reading and the weekly lesson, create a graphic representation of your data. Directions for each can be found in your textbook. You can also follow the following steps, but remember to format the chart accordingly (labels, black and white color, etc.).

To Create a Chart

1. Follow steps 1-4 above (without worrying about the Statistics).

2. Click Charts

3. Click choice of format

4. Click OK

5. Continue with steps 5-6

Export all of the frequency tables and charts by copy and pasting them into the textbox below or by attaching them in a separate word document.
